Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR)

Karin Mead Art Therapy offers EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization) therapy which is an integrative psychotherapy approach that has been extensively researched and proven effective for resolving trauma. (rather than resolving trauma, effective in trauma treatment as recognised by the World Health Organisation (WHO)

The goal of EMDR therapy is to process distressing memories allowing you to move into the future with healthy adaptive coping skills, and allow you to define yourself in the now, rather than based on past events.  EMDR changes the way the brain processes information and experiences. Bilateral stimulation assists in processing such as side to side eye movements or hand tapping.
